Matthias von Hartz is a director and curator. After studying at the LSE and University of Hamburg he directed at theatres and international production houses. For Deutsches Schauspielhaus he developed the interdiscplinary format go create: resistance with artists, scientists and activists. He was artistic director of multidisciplinary festivals e.g. Summerfestival Hamburg, Foreign Affairs/Berliner Festspiele and Artistic Advisor of MIF and Co-Curator of the Athens Festival. Currently he is Co-Director and Artistic Director of the international Zürcher Theater Spektakel.
