About

Gaja Mežnarić Osole is an eco-social designer, a founder of the Trajna Association and an initiator of Krater, an 18,000 m² former construction site transformed into a feral ecosystem and a production space for a critical creative practice. Her work focuses on multispecies right to the city and co-production of biodiversity explored through creative engagement with feral ecologies and invasive plants. She initiates ethical businesses (Notweed Paper), urgent pedagogies (Feral Palace), produces design interventions (Feral Occupations) and embodied research (Crafting Biodiversity) to reconnect human and non-human communities across genders, professions, and places. Her practice encompasses project writing and curation, collaboration with (trans)local cultural and educational institutions and NGOs, participation in artist residencies, and exhibitions. Currently, alongside her colleague Danica Sretenović, she runs The School of Feral Grounds, a learning program featuring video lectures and a podcast series designed to inspire cultural workers to engage with regenerative land practices.
