Annie Crabtree

Annie is an artist based out of Glasgow. Her work explores the complex relationship between people, place and society. She works with moving image and text, seeking collaborative relationships in an attempt to disrupt hierarchical structures that privilege the individual and restrict definitions of artistic authorship. She interrogates contemporary and historical societal structures – such as laws and social norms, expectations and representations – that impact upon people’s movement and agency. Annie enjoys an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses multiple theories, methods and practices – the common thread is her curiosity for the human experience and a dedication to questioning our understanding of it.
