About
Allison O’Connor is a Franco-Canadian multidisciplinary artist and art administrator working at the intersection of ecology and public art. Allison generates artworks that consider the environment and its inhabitants by utilizing environmental sciences and consultative practices. She is an MFA graduate from the School of Visual Arts NYC receiving the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award for her thesis on public art for ecological remediation. This methodology is applied as part of the City of Ottawa’s Public Art Program, where she commissions public art.
Allison is co-creator of the international award-winning artwork Trophy
and a professor at the University of Ottawa. She is a fourth generation farmer, apiarist, amateur archer, and mycology enthusiast. Her recent work focuses on the stewardship of seeds.
