Climate justice mirrors this journey, demanding lifelong dedication until we don't leave anyone behind. The Creative Climate Leadership (CCL) unites these endeavors, fostering collaboration and progress."

Project Highlights

"What Are We Doing? Art in the Face of Climate Change" (movie, 53 minutes, 2024)

Climate activists worldwide are resorting to increasingly radical measures, sparing not even the lofty realms of art. Instead, they’ve targeted masterpieces like Monet and Van Gogh with soup, and even Velazquez felt the force of their actions. “What are we doing?” questions Swiss-Turkish artist Dorian Sari.

The people of Basel made a clear decision in 2022 to reduce cantonal CO₂ emissions to net-zero by 2037, setting an example for the entire country. What are we doing to ensure that the cultural capital of Basel lives up to its responsibility, that art institutions drive change, that we serve as a model in crisis, and offer hope against fear of the future?
