CCL Slovenia: Conversations with Participants

Following our second Creative Climate Leadership course which took place between 8th-14th October 2017 in Slovenia, with Slovenian-based sustainable development and training NGO PiNA, hear some insights straight from the participating artists and creative professionals. As they engaged with the course on the Slovenian coast, ten of our inspiring participants shared their experiences of the the course, what they enjoyed most, and the ways in which they have been energised to integrate sustainability with creative practices in their future work.

I enjoyed that we had the opportunity… [to] just [go] through our contexts and really [see] the climate justice debate that is going on. How does it fit into our context? Where do we start from? And how do we build it up? – Lucina Machanzi, Culture Fund Zimbabwe

It can be difficult to sustain [motivation]. So being among like-minded people has really helped to bolster that… It can be pretty solitary finding kindred spirits in your own local environment, so having an international network of people along that same journey is vital. – Kim Lisson, Karrak Consulting
