Apply Now: Creative Climate Leadership Training Course

Applications are now open for the Creative Climate Leadership (CCL) Training Course, our flagship programme for artists and cultural professionals to explore the cultural dimensions of climate change, and take action with impact, creativity and resilience.

The United Nations-led Paris Agreement on climate change came into force on 4th November, committing world leaders to keeping global warming below 2°C. There is now a need for creative and collaborative leadership to enable its success. CCL recognises the unique role of culture to influence new ways of being, doing and thinking, and supports creative professionals to apply these abilities to the climate challenge through a programme of events, training programmes and policy labs.

The first international training course will take place in Wales, UK, between 27th – 31st March 2017, facilitated by Julie’s Bicycle, a London-based charity that supports the creative community to act on climate change and environmental sustainability, and Slovenian-based sustainable development and training NGO, PiNA. The five-day intensive course is aimed at artists, creative and cultural professionals looking to develop their leadership skills in relation to climate change. Applications will be considered from all creative disciplines and art forms.

Situated at the inspirational Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, Wales, the course will bring together a range of guest speakers sharing case studies and practical approaches to environmental sustainability from the cultural sector. It will explore approaches to organisational change, engage people with new narratives and shift values through art and design, encourage behaviour change through communications and advocacy, and develop collaborative ways of working to maximise impact.

The deadline for applications is 10am (GMT) Monday 16th January 2017.
