Jessica Sim

Jess is passionate about ecology, committed to developing creative communication methods to address climate change and inspire more mindful living. Jess holds an MA in International Performance Research from the University of Warwick and University of Amsterdam, and a BA in contemporary dance from the London Contemporary Dance School. Upon graduation, she travelled to Iran as a performer with Arts Simorgh on The Last Leaf, a puppet show about peace and friendship. She then moved to her current home, Istanbul, where she worked a part of curatorial collective, FLYING roots, in the creation of The Museum of Garbage: an exhibition of waste in Istanbul. The exhibition took place at a space, now called Circuit, and inspired its evolution into an arts and culture organisation focused on creative sustainability. Jess is a co-founder of Circuit and was co-director between 2016 – 2018. Then, in April 2018, she co-founded NADAS, a new creative co-working house in Istanbul dedicated to urban biodiversity. Nadas aims to support projects that value the diversity of urban life and the interconnection of people and environments.

Jessica is a recipient of a CCL in Action grant.
